Tadepalli: In the wake of devastating floods in several districts, Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy has taken decisive action to address the pressing challenges faced by the affected communities. In a proactive move, the Chief Minister conducted a video conference with District Collectors of the flood-hit areas, including Alluri, Eluru, East Godavari, West Godavari, and Konaseema, from the camp office in Tadepalli on Thursday. During the conference, the Chief Minister issued crucial directives to ensure that relief and rehabilitation programs are carried out effectively, with a focus on providing timely aid to those impacted by the calamity.

As part of the relief measures, the Chief Minister instructed the authorities to provide fixed rations and access to safe drinking water to families seeking shelter in relief camps. Additionally, financial assistance will be extended to flood-affected families to help them cope with the aftermath of the disaster.

In a move to address the compensation of rebuilding the vulnerable structures damaged partially or fully, Rs. 10,000 will be provided to each affected household for the repair and reconstruction of their homes.
To ensure the well-being of the affected population, sanitation activities and medical camps will continue in the flood-affected areas. Adequate stocks of essential medicines, including snakebite medication, will be made available to cater to the health needs of the communities in distress.

Furthermore, the government will promptly assess and enumerate crop and property damage to provide transparent compensation to those affected. The Chief Minister stressed the importance of maintaining a high level of transparency in the compensation process to instill confidence among the impacted communities.

In a bid to provide a long-term solution for the affected residents, the Chief Minister instructed the swift sanctioning of new houses for those in need. Priority will be given to people living in areas frequently inundated upstream of Polavaram, offering them safer and more permanent living arrangements. As part of the comprehensive relief efforts, provisions for fodder for cattle will be ensured, and damaged infrastructure, including roads and culverts, will be repaired without delay to restore normalcy.
Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy expressed his commitment to the cause by announcing his visit to the flood-affected areas on Monday and Tuesday. His presence will provide an opportunity to personally examine the ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts on the ground, ensuring that the programs are effectively implemented and delivering the intended assistance to the flood victims.
