USPA NEWS - Paris 2024 has reinvented the Concept of Olympic and Paralympic Pictograms, elevating Them from Mere Visual Aids to Striking Coats of Arms Serving as Rallying Cries for Sports Fans. They will Bedeck the Competition Venues and Appear Everywhere that the Games are Taking Place, to Guide Spectators and Drive the Crowds.
Paris 2024 has reinvented the Concept of Olympic and Paralympic Pictograms, elevating Them from Mere Visual Aids to Striking Coats of Arms Serving as Rallying Cries for Sports Fans. The Idea is to Share these Coats of Arms with as Many People As Possible, including Athletes, Federation Members, Supporters…And You!

The 47 Sports in the Paris2024 Olympic Programme have their Own Pictograms, 8 of which are also used for the Paralympic sports.

- Each Sport has its Own Coat Of Arms

Having first appeared over Half a Century Ago, Games Pictograms are no longer just Simple and Generalised Images for Signage, as the Whole Concept has been Reinvented by Paris 2024. The Newly Unveiled Pictograms illustrate Each of the Olympic and Paralympic Sports in a Unique Coat Of Arms, paying Homage to the Complexity of Each of these Sports and what makes them Original. Each of the 62 Paris 2024 Pictograms is a Rallying Cry and a Symbol; a Standard that will Ignite Fans’ Pride during the World’s Largest Sporting Event.

The Olympic and Paralympic Games are the World’s Largest Sporting Event. It is now Paris’s Turn to Welcome Visitors from All Over The World to Celebrate The Olympic And Paralympic Values.

The Games are a Dream Opportunity to Make Progress on The Environment, Employment, The Economy, Education and more. The Committee aims To Harness Sport and The Excitement generated by the Games for The Greater Good.

The Paris 2024 Games are For All Of France. They are Games that Unite, Giving Everyone The Opportunity to Take Part and Embark on The Adventure Together.
- The Terre de Jeux 2024 Label, Promoting Games for The Whole Of France

Since Applications opened in June 2019, the Label has been Awarded to around 2,800 Local and Regional Authorities and Structures from the Sporting Movement (Regions, Departments, Inter-Council Public Establishments, Cities, Sports Federations, French Ambassies) Across the Country, highlighting their Commitment to increasing the Reach of Sport in France.
French Communities Abroad are an Integral Part of the Excitement Surrounding the Games. That is why the Terre de Jeux 2024 Label is Being Exported to French Communities Abroad. Ahead of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the French Embassy in Japan was awarded the First Label Outside Of France during a Visit to Japan by Etienne Thobois...
- France and Olympism: Over A Century Of Firsts

The First Modern Olympic Games were held in Greece, as a Tribute to the Ones in Antiquity. The Games of the II Olympiad were organised in Paris and Lasted Over Five Months, from May to October 1900. The Paris 1900 Games were included in the 1900 Exposition Universelle, which was much better known at the Time than the Recently Revived Olympics, to Draw Part of The Crowd that The Exhibition attracted.
The Paris 1924 Games were the First to feature the Olympic Motto, Citius, Altius, Fortius (“Faster, Higher, Stronger”), which Fr Henri Didon had Coined and Pierre de Coubertin Borrowed and Promoted.... The First ever Olympic Village was built near the Stade Olympique in Colombes, North-West of Paris.... The Games in Grenoble also gave the World of Olympism its Fair Share of Firsts – in the History of Technology and in the History of the Games. They were the First Games to be Broadcast in Colour, which was no Small Feat at the Time....
Thirty-Two Years after Albertville 1992, Paris 2024 is planning to do what France has done Every Time it has organised the Games: Push Back The Boundaries. Holding the First Carbon-Neutral Games, the First Gender-Equal Games, and the First Games to include Competitions that Everyone is Welcome to Take Part in: that is what Paris 2024 is Aiming To Do, to Honour France’s Olympic Heritage and Take it to the Next Level...
