USPA NEWS - It wasn't Bazelak, it was the Hoosier "what-we-lack" the first half. Trying to run an effective hurry up offense, takes composure and ability to adjust and read react on the go, but with control. Unlike the prior week, making good choices the first half seemed far apart and painful to find. So many times when teams come off of a big win the prior week, it seems getting off to a good start can take a tremendous effort. This is can be an indicator how good a team is? Those teams that can start strong week in and week out regardless who they are playing, that's a team that's ready to play and win!

When it rains, it pours! Looking for a life boat had new meaning for the Hoosiers first half! If water would had been the only thing the Indiana Hoosiers needed to worry about, it would had been a good start. Getting off to a poor start would be an under statement. It was like watching a machine with gears trying to run that was out of timing! The offense being lead by Jr. Connor Bazelak struggled endlessly the first half. Scoreless in the first half, down 0-10 to a team the Hoosiers were picked to win by 95%! So much for drinking the Kool-Aid! Maybe that was some of the problem! However 3rd quarter and on was a totally different team that took the field, Indiana Hoosier scored 23 points and never looked back! They looked like a football team that wanted to win, knew how to win and played to win! Bazelak went 16/29 and 2 TD's & 1 INT, Running back Shivers had 20 carries for 155 average of 7.8 yds per carry. TE AJ Barner #88 had 3 rec/ for 57 yards and 1TD. DJ Matthews, #7 3 catches for 51 yards and 1 TD, Camper #6 had 4 catches for 43 yards. They gave extra attention to Camper after his performance last week. Freshman QB for Idaho State #4 G. McCoy was 13/23 and 204 yards with 3 TD's & 0 INT's, Hoosiers held the Vandals to total ground game of 126 yards. Hoosier's determination finally took its toll and wore down the Idaho defense and battle in the trenches.
