Double the giving, double the love
Dedication Day! (Source: LeDante Walker)
Building a strong community one family at a time. Well, maybe two! The Hot Springs community gathered to dedicate two homes in the historic district today. Many gathered together to welcome Natasha Green-Ngassa and Heather Phillips to the neighborhood. Family, volunteers, friends, and even city officials were on hand. Mayor Pat McCabe, City Manager David Frasher, and Director of District 2 Elaine Jones were here so the city was definitely represented. Today makes a total of four homes in this area alone that was dedicated this year. Garland County Habitat partnered with Window Mart, John Jenkins Construction, Crabtree Electric, Master Gardeners, Steve Patton Construction, Federal Home Loan Bank, Carroll Anthony Roofing, Community Development Block Grant, Zach Ouchley French Architects, Triumph Airborne Structures, Acme Brick, Azteck Timber Tech, Millwork Co. Robbie McClain, John Junkerman Masonry, Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas, B&F Engineering, CREE Light, Terry Suit Plumbing, Whirlpool, Thomas Gould Construction, CED/MOR Electric, City of Hot Springs, Kelby Ouchley, ABC Block, and Simpson Strong Tie to make it possible.
Today may have been the final day of construction, but it is the beginning of what most would call a dream. Homeownership...In a way, it is a foundation within the community you now will be apart of building. And what better way to start than have neighbors to go through the same experience at the same time. During the building process, homeowners give sweat equity hours by assisting with the building of their own homes as well as other homes. At that time a bond is already being formed at it can only improve over time. Today was definitely a day of love... A day of celebration... A day of community...
